Community members who want to join the 2012 Kikkoman Cook-Off will have until Wednesday, June 27, to sign up for the culinary competition.

Hosted by J.C. Tenorio Enterprises, the 2012 Kikkoman Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, June 30, at the Joeten Susupe Shopping Center.

Frannie T. Demapan, Joeten marketing manager and buyer, said yesterday that a number of individuals have already signed up for the event so they have to set the registration closing date by tomorrow.

“We want to encourage potential contestants to get application forms, which are available at all Joeten stores on island and submit them at Joeten Susupe on or before June 27,” she told Saipan Tribune.

The 2012 Kikkoman Cook-Off is open to all Kikkoman users 18 years or older who have a recipe using any Kikkoman products. Recipes can be entered in only one of two categories: appetizer and main entrée.

All entries will have to be cooked or prepared when brought to the Joeten Susupe Shopping Center where the judging will be held.

Contestants will each receive an exclusive Joeten/Kikkoman T-shirt and their recipes will be forwarded to the Kikkoman office in Japan.

Winners for each category will receive $150 worth of Joeten gift certificates for first place, $100 gift certificates for second place, and $50 gift certificates for third place.

Additionally, the winners will also receive gift packs from Marpac, Dickerson & Quinn, and Coca-Cola, according to Demapan.

For more information, visit Joeten’s Facebook page or call 234-6445 Ext. 292.
