Golf events this weekend
Golfers will have their hands full this weekend as two tournaments, one for a good cause, are slated at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.
The 1st Annual Festpac Golf Tournament, a fundraising event organized in part by the Marianas Golf Association, is for the benefit of the CNMI delegation to the 12th Festival of the Pacific Arts set from May 22 to June 4 at the Paseo de Susana Park in Hagåtña, Guam.
The tournament—which has a brand new car at stake as a hole-in-one prize—will be using a two-player, best ball format.
The top men’s and women’s teams in the double Peoria, and the men’s team low gross will get $300 each plus trophy. The second and third placers in each category will receive $200 and $100, each plus trophies.

More than 2,500 performers, artists, and other cultural practitioners are expected to arrive in Guam for the festival aside from tourists and visitors from Asia.
American Samoa, Australia, the Cook Islands, Easter Island, the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, the State of Hawaii, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Norfolk Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Wallis and Futuna are the Pacific Island countries and territories expected to join the festival.
On Sunday, April 17, it will be the turn of the Saipan Golf Association to hit the fairways and greens of Laolao Bay for their March Ace of the Month Tournament
The SGA March Ace will be held on the east course with a 9am show time and 10am tee time. (PR)
