Joeten Dolphins formed anew for MMAC 2016

The Joeten-Dadai Charitable Foundation has teamed up once again with Marianas High School to form the team called the Joeten Dolphins for the 2016 Marianas March Against Cancer, set on May 13 and 14 at the Hopwood Junior High School field.

Joeten-Dadai donated a total of $5,000 in cash and gift certificates making them a title sponsor of the event that gathers the community and families of cancer patients and survivors. The title sponsor is the highest level of sponsorship in the MMAC.

Geri C. Dela Cruz, the 2016 MMAC overall committee chair said the foundation has been title sponsors since the event started more than 10 years ago.

“The 2016 MMAC committee once again extends its sincere gratitude to the [JDCF] for their untiring support in the fight against cancer. So we thank them for their continued commitment,” said Dela Cruz.

The 2016 MMAC committee has also renewed its call to other businesses, charitable foundations, public or private groups, families, and individuals to support the event by either becoming a title, major or supporting sponsor.

“We also invite all businesses, families, schools, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to participate in the MMAC by becoming a team,” added Dela Cruz.

Delta Airlines was the first confirmed title sponsor for this year after donating one round-trip main cabin ticket to anywhere in the U.S. and another round-trip main cabin ticket to Japan plus $400 worth of travel credit vouchers.

Dr. Ignacio Dela Cruz, D.V.M., and his family also donated $1,500, while the Saipan Mayor’s Office has also pledged in providing logistics and other assistance to MMAC for the two-day event.

All MMAC teams will also be selling $5 raffle tickets to the public to win awesome prizes like the plane tickets from Delta.

All proceeds of the annual MMAC event, from donations by sponsors and other individuals, will go to fund various projects of the Commonwealth Cancer Association that provides other support services and serves as chief advocate for cancer issues in the CNMI.

Issuing vouchers to assist cancer patients with medical costs of treatment, information dissemination in raising cancer awareness and prevention in the CNMI, and monthly meetings with other cancer survivors are some of CCA’s projects.
