Woman, boyfriend arrested for PVC pipe, lumber fight
A woman called the police after her boyfriend allegedly struck her knees with a PVC pipe at his residence in San Antonio last week. She, however, also ended up being arrested after the boyfriend complained that she first hit him on the buttocks with a piece of lumber.
Hari N. Talukdar, 48, and Lilia Pino Lizama, 50, were both arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
At a hearing on Thursday, Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed $6,500 cash bail on Talukdar and $6,250 cash bail on Lizama.
The court will appoint a private counsel for Talukdar, while assistant public defender Michael Sato was appointed as counsel for Lizama.
Police Detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that a police officer responded to a residence in San Antonio at 10:23pm last Tuesday, March 29, after Lizama reported a domestic violence.
Kintoki said when the officer arrived, Lizama was crying and holding her left knee with her hands.
Lizama then told the officer that her boyfriend, Talukdar, chased her with a PVC pipe and hit her on the knees with it.
Talukdar admitted to the officer that he hit Lizama because she kept on bothering him when she came home late at night after going to Best Sunshine Live, a casino in Garapan.
Police Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that Talukdar was sleeping at his house when Lizama arrived at 10:20pm and kept on banging on the door to wake him up.
Talukdar alleged that Lizama splashed water on his feet with a plastic scoop, then struck the right side of his buttocks with a 2X4 lumber.
