Large chunk of Saipan experience power interruption

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the general public that an emergency power interruption affected some areas of the island yesterday afternoon March, 23, 2016.

The power interruption was due to electrical problems inside the cabinets of the generator breaker at the CUC powerplant. All repairs were completed and the power was fully restored at 2:17pm to the affected feeders.

Affected areas were Lower Base, Puerto Rico, Garapan, Chalan Laulau, San Jose, Capital Hill, Wireless, Mt. Tapochao, Talafofo, Denii, Agag, As Teo, Papago, Kagman, Kagman Homestead 1, 2, 3, and 4, Chalan Kanoa, Chalan Piao, Chalan Kiya, Oleai, and Susupe.
