‘Hairspray’ auditions extended

Friends of the Arts has extended auditions for ‘Hairspray” until the show is fully cast.

FOA needs about four more adults and six more students to complete the cast. All should come prepared to sing as well as read for the audition.

If you are interested in being in one of the most high-energy Broadway shows to ever hit the stage, then contact MariLou or leave a message at 256-9540. Performances are scheduled for mid-to-late May. (PR)

Transfer station, landfill open on March 24, closed on March 25

The Lower Base Transfer Station and the Marpi Landfill waste disposal facilities will be opened on Commonwealth Covenant Day, Thursday, March 24, 2016. However, in observance of Good Friday, March 25, 2016, both facilities will be closed all day. (PR)

Navy to conduct training at W-517

ASAN, Guam—The Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 during the following dates and times:

• March 21-22 from 8am to 6:30pm

• March 23-24 from 8am to 11:55pm

The general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators— are advised to stay clear of the area during the dates and times indicated.

W-517 is activated south of latitude 12° 40’ 00”N. All vessels are advised to remain clear of W-517 south of latitude 12° 40’ 00”N. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank are open for public use. W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. W-517 supports surface and aerial gunnery, missiles, and laser exercises.
