“It’s always heartwarming to see our sponsors support our league and their teams. More so if they attend the games,” he said.

Malasarte disclosed that Cavanagh threw her full support in sponsoring a team in the UFO youth league. Aside from the $500 entrance fee, the Marianas Resort general manager also paid for the team’s jerseys as well as promised to take care of water and ice for players during games.

Cavanagh, whose father was one of the founders of masters caging in Guam, said aside from sponsoring a team in the UFO youth league, Marianas Resort currently has a bowling league for employees and is looking forward to again hosting a go-kart race among tourism industry partners.

She said Marianas Resort is always happy to sponsor sports teams if it’s within their budget.

In the past, Marianas Resort also sponsored bike races, donated to the Northern Mariana Islands Trades Institute, and continues to maintain the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool in Marpi for the both the Saipan Swim Club and Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan.
