Hafa Adai 5K set for April 9
Pacific Islands Club’s Hafa Adai 5K will take place on April 9, instead of April 19 as inadvertently reported last Wednesday.
The 5KM fun run will start and finish at PIC Saipan and will feature five different coloring stations along the Beach Road route. Participants are encouraged to wear white attire so that the full effect of the coloring stations can be seen post-race. Volunteers will be celebrating each runner’s arrival by greeting them with “holi powder.” This is biodegradable mixture of corn starch and food coloring.
“This year will have more color, more prizes, more runners and more fun,” said sports and events manager Keoni Ichihara. “The five color stations (blue, pink, green, yellow and red) along with two water stations will line Beach Road starting at PIC and stretching all the way to Triple J Five Star Wholesale.
“Based on last year’s response, we are expecting more participants this year. We will accept the first 1,200 entries into the event which will once again make this event the biggest in Saipan, “said Sports, Entertainment and Activities director Glenn Policare.
The first 500 paid entries will receive a free t-shirt at the event site.
Entry forms for the Hafa Adai 5K can be found at Triple J Motors, Gold’s Gym, Boarderline or at the PIC Saipan lobby.
