216 avail of services in Lions clubs health fair

Lions Clubs International, District 204, Region 2 held its annual health fair at the Joeten Dai-Dai Social Hall of Mt. Carmel Cathedral last March 13. The medical mission was open to the public and was able to service 216 participants. The free services include blood pressure check, sugar/glucose test, eye check and immunization. With almost 300 people avail the free reading glasses.

The service providers are from NMC Nursing Club, CHCC Nurses, CHCC Immunization Program, Guam Marianas Lions Club, and Paradise Dental Clinic, which provided free teeth vanishing to kids below 14 years old.

The Lions clubs are greatly thankful to all donors: TSL Foundation, IT&E, PHI Pharmacy, Barny’s Pizza, Northern Marianas Bartender’s Association, Jet Holding Company, Kautz Glass Company, National Office Supply, Sun Palace Hotel, Trader’s Insurance, Coca-Cola Company, Ms. Bhiya Canadalla of Happy Market, Cosmos Distributing Company, honorary consul Eli Arago, Annamae Adaza, D&Q Saipan, D’ Elegance Café, Saipan Ice & Water Company, Wushin LP Gas, Gold Ribbon Snack Bar & Bakeshop, KFC/Taco Bell, LD Prime Corporation, Fongs Bakery, The Lounge Bakery, and Shirley Wilson Catering Services.

The District 204 Region 2 Lions are: Saipan Fil-American Lions Club, Saipan Marianas Lions Club, Saipan Unity Lions Club, Tinian Marianas Lions Club, and Rota Marianas Lions Club. Also the Saipan Marianas Alpha Leo Club assisted the health fair.

The district officials from Guam joined the medical mission headed by district governor Daniel Yang, first vice district governor-elect Art Navarro, past district governor Goring Duenas, PDG Romy Angel, from Guam Marianas LC Jomar Canlas, June Depakakibo, and Neil Mercado, who conducted the eye check during the health fair, according to chair Canape. She also extended her gratitude and appreciation to all officers and members of the Lions clubs and to all volunteers who devoted their time just to help out.

“The medical mission is an annual event that is part of the Region 2 Lions’ community services,” zone chair Mayuga said.
