The Rotary Club of Saipan will be hosting two visiting students from Japan as part of their youth exchange program from one of their sister club.

The two students, who are both in junior high school, are scheduled to arrive on March 27 and will spend the whole week learning about the local culture and doing some community service.

Both students will also get the chance to meet and join the Interact clubs of Kagman High School and Marianas High School for two days each.

Watching the magic show at Sandcastle, experiencing the Thursday Street Market, seeing other cultural shows, and joining a bus stop repair and repainting are some of the activities that Rotary has lined up for the two students.

“We will have them join the Rotary’s community service during their free time and we are still open for other ideas to make their stay here memorable,” said Saipan Rotary president Curtis Dancoe during the club’s meeting last Tuesday at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Giovanni’s restaurant.

They will also get their Interact and Rotaract members involved with the activities. The issue on accommodation is the only thing that the Rotary is finalizing.

“We’re going to find a host family and a safe environment for the two girls,” said Dancoe.
