In a continuing bid to revitalize visitor arrivals from Japan, the Marianas Visitors Authority and Delta Air Lines hosted a second round of travel trade FAM tours targeting wholesalers in the country from Feb. 27 to March 1.
The FAM tours are one of the proposals made in a December 2015 meeting on Saipan between CNMI officials, tourism industry leaders, and Delta management.
“We’re pleased to host a second group of key industry planners from Japan and to see the discussions we had in December with Delta being put into action,” said MVA Marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “Japan is still a very important market for NMI tourism, and we will continue to work closely with Delta and our other airline partners to maintain and re-boot the market.” The group included planners from JTB World Vacations, KNT Individual Tour, ST World, Tabikobo, Delta, and MVA’s Japan office. The FAM tour conducted site inspections at hotels and various tourist attractions. They lodged at Mariana Resort & Spa during their visit. The first FAM tour visited in January 2016 and included representatives of JTB World Vacations, H.I.S., R&C Tours, Delta, and the MVA’s Japan office. A third group is scheduled for later this month.
