Alexandra Castro Macabalo has signed a plea deal with the U.S. government in connection with the allegations that she enticed a 15-year-old girl to engage in sex for cash with a government official in 2013.

Assistant U.S. attorney Garth R. Backe informed the U.S. District Court for the NMI on Monday that the U.S. government and Macabalo have signed a plea agreement.

Backe requested the court to set the case for a change of plea hearing on Monday, March 7, at 9am.

The plea deal is sealed.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Macabalo last April after a complaint was filed in court, charging her with enticement of a minor to engage in prostitution and other sexual activity. The indictment was later subsequently filed.

Last December, U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona granted the U.S. Probation’s request to revoke the pretrial release of Macabalo for smoking methamphetamine or “ice” and violating other pre-trial conditions.
