Comment period ongoing for proposed projects at AAFB

NIMITZ HILL, Guam—Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Marianas announced today the start of a 45-day public comment period for new information associated with proposed projects at Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB) North Field, Guam in support of the Marine Corps Realignment. The comment period for both projects will remain open through April 13, 2016 (Chamorro Standard Time).

Comments are being accepted for the Department of Defense’s (DoD) identification of historic properties, determination of eligibility and determination of effect for the following two projects located at North Ramp. P-250: Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) (PA Memo #1) and for P-260: Corrosion Control Hangar (PA Memo #1).

P-250 consists of constructing a series of low-rise facilities to support MALS. It will include administrative offices, airframes shop, engine maintenance, avionics maintenance shops, van pads and a general purpose warehouse.

P-260 consists of constructing a corrosion control hangar including a clean and dirty bay to support operational, maintenance, administrative, and support facilities for the USMC Aviation Combat Element (ACE) and the 1st Marine Air Wing (MAW) Element.

Information regarding the proposed projects is available to the public for a 45-day public comment period. The information can be found on the NAVFAC Pacific Cultural Information (CRI) website at http://go.usa.gov/kZWG. (Please note the URL is case sensitive).
