Merchants ordered to submit weights/measures license applications on time
Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres, through the Office of the Secretary of Commerce, wishes to inform the general public and all business establishments using weights and measure devices in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands that it will reject all devices and will issue a Stop-Use Order, in accordance with 4 CMC, Division 5, §5426, to any business using weighting and measuring devises for commercial transactions that fails to submit a new and/or renewal on time applications for a Weights & Measures License.
Therefore, the Secretary of Commerce encourages all businesses using weighing and measuring devices to comply with the weight and measure requirements. 401(k) programs topic at SHRM meeting tomorrow
The Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter will have Gabrielle Bamba, director of Client Services for ASC Trust Corporation, presenting at its February general membership meeting.
Bamba will provide an introduction to 401(k) programs, eligibility and enrollment, investments and returns, tax advantages, and a variety of related topics.
This lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club Charley’s on Thursday, Feb. 25, from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
The presentation includes the delicious PIC lunch buffet at the cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members. Marianas High School Class of 1981 will have meeting to talk about their upcoming class reunion.

SSHS PTSA meeting tomorrow
Saipan Southern High School will have a Parent-Teacher-Student Association meeting tomorrow, Feb. 25, starting at 5:45pm in the school cafeteria.
Everyone is invited to participate and receive updates on the school year and PTSA activities. Following the brief meeting, there will be mini workshop sessions that will provide valuable information on academic testing, financial aid for college, vocational training, and other relevant topics.

VA benefits outreach on Feb. 25
The U.S. Department of Veterans Benefits Administration will be conducting a Veterans Benefits Outreach on Feb 25, 2016, from 0900 to 1630, at the Saipan VA Outreach Clinic, MH II Bldg., Suite 206, Marina Heights Business Park in Garapan.

Red Cross Walkathon set for April 30
The American Red Cross is proud to announce its 30th Annual Red Cross Walkathon is scheduled for April 30.
The 30th anniversary event will be extra exciting with many special activities including a carnival and health fair, drinks, food, and a T-shirt for all participants. There will be prizes for various categories including student with the most pledges as well as awards and recognition for top schools. The 10K and 5K event will be held on all three islands starting at 6am.
Please mark your calendar, support the Red Cross and plan on a morning of exercise and family fun!
