Lions Clubs International District 204 Region 2 will hold its annual health fair next month.

The event is scheduled on March 13 to be held at the Joeten Dai-Dai Social Hall of Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Chalan Kanoa from 8am to 12pm.

“The medical mission is an annual event that is part of the Region 2 Lions’ community services,” zone chair Mario Mayuga said.

Included in the services that they will provide free of charge are blood pressure tests, sugar or glucose tests, and vision screening and eye pressure tests.

Those who would like to take the sugar/glucose test should not eat at least six hours prior to the checkup.

The Lions Club will also distribute reading glasses on a first-come, first-served basis.

An information campaign for diabetes, cancer, and general health awareness will also be held.

The District 204 Region 2 is comprised of the Saipan Fil-American Lions Club, Saipan Marianas Lions Club, Saipan Unity Lions Club, Tinian Marianas Lions Club, and Rota Marianas Lions Club.

Aside from these, district officials from Guam headed by District governor Daniel Yang, Guam Marianas Lions Club, and other members are expected to join the medical mission, SFALC president Annamae Adaza said.

They are currently looking for support from the community. Donations of bottled water and food are also sought.

“Since we are still waiting for confirmation from our service providers, we are encouraging other health companies to join this medical mission,” region chair Ladyvir Canape said.

For more information and for donations, the public may call Canape at 989-2545, Region 2 secretary Olive Yana at 233-3854, Mayuga at 285-1021, or Adaza at 483-5237.
