The 14 candidates of the Miss Teen Pusong Pinoy underwent a crash course on how to effectively answer questions last Friday at McDonald’s in Middle Road.

Tina Snodgrass, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduate of Oregon State University, was the guest speaker and she gave pointers and some tips to give the candidates the confidence in answering the judges’ questions.

The coronation night of the Miss Teen Pusong Pinoy is set on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall.

“It was just a short talk by Ms. Tina. She gave a crash course and tips on how to effectively answer interviews during the question and answer portion of the pageant,” said pageant director Ernie Molina.

“I also do exercises with them just to see what they have learned and to check their confidence,” Molina added.

With less than a week before the winner is crowned, all 14 candidates are busy with their practices under Molina’s strict supervision.

The Philippines honorary consul to the CNMI Eli Arago will be hosting a dinner at 6pm at Kanoa Resort tonight. The event was supposed to be held at lunchtime last Saturday but Arago was busy with other affairs.

A pageant dry run will be held at Royal Taga Hall on Wednesday at 8:30pm, while the general practice will be held the following day. The candidates will take a rest on Friday before Saturday’s big day.

The criteria for judging will be based on personality, talent, formal wear, and the question-and-answer portion. The candidates will be judged right from the opening number like the way they dance and move on stage.

Angela Barbo, Mary Angela Cabrera, Clarice Mhae T. Canarejo, Catherine Kate Castro, Janelle S. Lavetoria, Queen Anne Lopez, Mazie Anne A. Manalang, Adonna Matutino, Rhine Jaydel Russell, Mary Lenor Sablan, Chloe Salvosa, Michaella Serrano, Mikamaika Serrano, and Erica Tubera are the 14 candidates.
