Former senator Paul Manglona, a runner-up in the last election for a Senate seat for Rota, has finally been appointed to the vacant Senate seat that Lt. Gov. Victor B. Hocog left when he ascended to his current post after the passing of the late governor Eloy S. Inos in December.

Hocog, the former Senate president, issued the appointment letter last week while he was acting governor. Copies of the letter were shared to reporters yesterday.

At the same time yesterday, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres continued the reorganization of his Cabinet.

Torres and Hocog yesterday accepted the courtesy resignation of Esther S. Fleming, special assistant for administration (SAA) under the Office of the Governor.

The continuing reorganization came after members of the cabinet and special assistants submitted their courtesy resignations to Torres and Hocog.

“I have accepted Esther Fleming’s courtesy resignation. She has served under different administration up until now, and for that, I commend her length of public service to the people. I appreciate her acceptance to serve under a different capacity in my administration,” said Torres in a statement yesterday.
