Limited water service in Garapan

Share

Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the village of Garapan will continue to experience limited water service due to low levels in the Puerto Rico reservoir.

The situation first came to light when CUC Water Operations personnel discovered the Puerto Rico tank was empty during routine monitoring Saturday morning. A subsequent investigation of the production and transmission system revealed three wells went offline during the night.

Repair personnel were able to get one of the wells online the same day; however, two wells in Sadog Tasi remain offline. As a result, customers in Garapan will receive limited water service for four hours per day based on the following schedule:

• Beach Road from Garapan to Gualo Rai: 6:30am-10:30am
• Chalan Pale Arnold from Garapan to Gualo Rai: 10:30am-2:30pm

For more information, please contact the 24-hour CUC Customer Call Center (664-4282) or visit www.facebook.com/CommonwealthUtilitiesCorporation for the latest updates.

CUC is a non-profit autonomous agency of the CNMI government. The utility provides electric power, water and wastewater services to the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
