Calvo’s Insurance rejoins Chamber of Commerce
Calvo’s Insurance is the latest member of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce.
In their monthly meeting held at Aqua Resort Club, the Chamber welcomed back Calvo’s Insurance after years of being absent.
“It’s really an exciting experience to be back to the Saipan Chamber of Commerce after many years of absence,” Calvo’s general manager Eli Buenaventura said, addressing members of the Chamber.
Buenaventura said they are rejoining because of the Chamber’s new leadership as well as the propagation of business.
“We rejoin the Saipan Chamber of Commerce because we believe in the new direction it is pursuing led by our newly-installed president Velma Palacios and also we believe that the propagation of business that is friendly and beneficial to the community must be protected and must start from here,” Buenaventura said.
He added that their company is “ready to get involved.”
Palacios reported to the members that Calvo’s marketing director Marcia Calvo joined the events committee of the Chamber.
Buenaventura provided a brief background and update of their company.
“Right now Calvo’s Insurance is the leading player in the healthcare industry in the region. And in order to keep pace with the growing demand of our customers, we have set up 27 participating providers in the CNMI and we have also arranged provider access to California, to Hawaii, to the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea,” Buenaventura said.
Calvo’s renowned SelectCare medical plan allows access to more than 100 physicians and clinics in the region, as well as more than 350,000 health care providers in the U.S. and the Philippines.
“Our plans are very versatile. We can tailor-fit plans for everyone in accordance with your budget and needs,” he added.
Although Calvo’s is only currently only offering group plans, Buenaventura said there may be changes in the future.
“We are considering the options of selling individual plans in the future,” he said.
Starting from a small office space in Guam, Calvo’s has grown into a “profit-driven, environment-conscious, family-oriented, God-fearing, and law-abiding corporation” with offices Palau and the Philippines, aside from Saipan.
Aside from health insurance, Calvo’s also offers the full range of auto, home life, property, marine cargo, casualty, bonding, and liability insurance coverage.
