Regal Cinema Saipan to feature Filipino film

Regal Cinema Saipan, in partnership with The Filipino Channel, will be showing the Filipino movie Everything About Her at Saipan Megaplex 7 starting on Feb. 12.

The movie being shown on Saipan is a partnership between TFC and Regal Entertainment Group, which operates the island’s lone cinema complex. The film will feature subtitles for non-Filipino speaking moviegoers,

“TFC was able to establish a partnership with Regal Cinemas and for our first movie screening, we will be showing the movie Everything About Her,” said TFC marketing specialist James Redmond Chua, who is in charge of Saipan and the CNMI.

The movie, which was given a Grade A rating by the Cinema Evaluation Board of the Philippines, features multi-awarded and veteran Filipino actress Vilma Santos and former teen star Angel Locsin. It also starts Xian Lim as Santos’ estranged son Albert.

The CEBP grants tax incentives to films that they give a Grade A and B ratings to encourage Filipino filmmakers in producing more quality movies to increase the marketability of the Philippine cinema internationally.

The comedy-drama film revolves around real estate mogul Vivian (Santos) and Jaica (Locsin), a hired nurse, who were joined together after the latter was hired to take care of the former to conceal her medical condition.

The plot further develops when Vivian gives Jaica the task to convince her son Albert to come home in the hopes of fixing their broken relationship before she dies.

Everything About Her, directed by Joyce Bernal, grossed P15,000,000 (US$314,000) on opening day in the Philippines on Jan. 27. The movie was also shown on Jan. 29 in the U.S. (California, Texas, Alaska, Nevada, Hawaii, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, Washington State, New Jersey and New York) and in Europe (France, Italy, Malta and Greece) on Jan. 31.

It will have separate showings in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait on Feb. 4l Canada on Feb. 5; Austria and the United Kingdom on Feb. 6; Spain on Feb. 7; Australia and Singapore on Feb. 11 and Feb. 21 in Singapore.
