Sister Remedios to hold 8th Annual Walkathon
Parents, students, and teachers at Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center are revving up for the 8th Annual Sister Remedios Memorial Walkathon this coming Saturday, Jan. 30.
In addition to promoting healthy living at such a young age, the walkathon is one of the most important fundraisers for the school. Last year’s walkathon was a huge success, bringing over $7,000.
This year, the school is offering several incentives to motivate participants. According to Sister Remedios principal, Bennet Seman, “for every $25 worth of pledges students will get a ticket for raffle drawings.” She added, “students who bring in $25 worth of pledges will also get a souvenir T-shirt, and the student who raises the most pledges will be awarded a special prize.”
This year’s walkathon is made possible by generous support from parents and members of the community, including the Commonwealth Health Corporation Awareness Program, JC Tenorio Enterprises, and the Office of Representative B.J. Attao.
The walkathon will start at the Minachom Atdao Pavilion, and registration starts at 3:30pm this Saturday. Seman noted that it’s not too late to support the 8th Annual Sister Remedios Walkathon. To make pledges, or to learn how you can help, call the school at 234-6247.
