More than dozen dignitaries confirmed for Inos’ funeral

Guam Gov. Eddie Calvo, federal officials, lawmakers, a three star general, and other leaders from off-island have been confirmed to attend the late governor Eloy S. Inos’ funeral on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

More than a dozen dignitaries will be arriving from off-island next week to attend Inos’ funeral, according to a list provided by Office of the Governor press secretary Ivan Blanco yesterday.

Aside from Calvo and staff, other dignitaries set to arrive include Office of Insular Affairs Assistant Secretary Esther Kia’aina, Federated States of Micronesia Vice President Yosiwo George and executive staff, Republic of Palau Vice President Antonio Bells and staff, and State of Yap Lt. Gov. James Yangtemai.

Other dignitaries include Jerome Ierome who will be representing the American Samoa governor, former Guam governor Felix Camacho and his wife JoAnn Camacho, Lt. Gen. Anthony Crutchfield, a three-star general and the deputy commander of the U.S. Pacific Command in Hawaii, as well as several U.S Coast Guard captains and lieutenants.

Guam Senate president Judith WonPat has also confirmed her attendance, as well as Guam mayors Melissa Savares of Dededo and Carol Tayama of Agat.

Yangtemai also paid a courtesy visit to the new administration of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Victor Hocog yesterday. He expressed condolences for Inos’ passing and heard thanks from Torres for Yap’s support during post-Typhoon Soudelor recovery, with the Yapese linemen that flew over to help the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. rebuild.
