Late governor Eloy S. Inos’ funeral will be held next week Tuesday, the Office of the Governor confirmed near press time yesterday. There will also be a Monday viewing of Inos’ remains for family, off-island dignitaries, cabinet member, and other government officials at the Borja Funeral Homes.

Press Secretary Ivan Blanco provided an update on Inos’ arrival and funeral yesterday afternoon.

On Friday, Jan. 8, at 3:10pm, Inos’ remains will arrive at the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport. This will be followed by a funeral cortege to Borja Funeral Home, and a viewing of Inos for family members only.

On Monday, Jan. 11, from 1pm to 3pm, a private viewing for visiting heads of state, government officials, cabinet members, and administration staff will be held.

On Tuesday, 7am, the funeral cortege will depart Borja Funeral Home for Mt. Carmel Cathedral at 7am. At 7:30am, a Responso and Holy Rosary will be held, followed by public visitation and respects at 8am. At 2pm, there will be a viewing and last respects for immediate Inos family.

At 3pm, a mass of Christian burial—with seating for dignitaries arranged—will be held.

Inos died of apparent complications from diabetes last Dec. 28 in Seattle, Washington.
