Two men were arrested in separate domestic violence incidences in Koberville and Tanapag last week.

Allan Akihiko Muna Nishimura, 30, was arrested for assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Clifford Kani Norita, 33, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho kept the original $15,000 cash bail on Nishimura and the $6,500 cash bail on Norita.

According to police detective Edwin B. Camacho, two police officers responded to Nishimura’s residence in Koblerville Homestead last Dec. 26 at 9:36am after Nishimura’s common-law wife called for police assistance.

The alleged victim told police that she and Nishimura were arguing since Christmas Day because she did not like the way he was scolding their two minor sons.

She said at 1am on Dec. 26, Nishimura allegedly slapped her on the right cheek, splashed water to her face, threw her onto the bed, put his hand and blanket in her mouth, and choked her.

Nishimura told police that he was just trying to control his wife, who is a bipolar and started going crazy at that time.

In Norita’s case, police detective Therese S. Kintoki stated in her report that the defendant accused his common-law wife of having an affair.

Kintoki said the alleged victim told police that Norita locked her leg with his legs, grabbed her neck and choked her, kicked her on the face and chest, smacked her on the face, and slammed her on the bed.

Norita also allegedly pinched the skin of his wife’s throat using pliers and tried to poke a scissor or a pen at her.

The alleged beating happened in Tanapag in the afternoon of Dec. 30. The victim had scratches on the face and arms, police said. Norita was later arrested that same day.
