PDHF’s mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals, families and communities by creating opportunities and providing assistance for continued growth in health, education and social welfare. The donation of much needed medical supplies will assist in the ongoing efforts made by CNMI C.O.R.E. to help the people of Saipan who were devastated by Typhoon Soudelor and do not have the financial ability to obtain medical attention.
“On behalf of the Community Outreach Recovery Effort we are humbled and grateful for the generous donation from the P.D. Hemlani Foundation. We plan to use their donation to continue medical outreach relief efforts in the community. We have many people out there in dire need of medical attention but they do not have the means of getting it,” said CORE president Patricia Marie Kaipat.
According to Elicia Santo Tomas, PDHF operations manager, “It is part of PDHF’s mission to provide support for causes and concerns in the CNMI so we are happy to assist C.O.R.E. in their efforts. We hope to assist with medical missions to Saipan in the near future. A big thank you to Sam McPhetres from Sons of Saipan who arranged shipment of the medical supplies from Guam to Saipan.”
Sons of Saipan is a non-profit organization that includes residents of Guam who have familial roots on Saipan. McPhetres said, “Thank you P.D. Hemlani Foundation for your generous donation of medical supplies to help with the ongoing recovery efforts [on] Saipan. Goods are on the way to Saipan and CNMI: CORE. Your generosity will go a long way especially in this holiday season!” (P.D. Hemlani Foundation)
