Pickup truck collides with police car, another car
A pickup truck being driven by an alleged intoxicated man sideswiped a car before colliding with a police vehicle along Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Gualo Rai last week.
No one was injured, according to Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Jason Tarkong.
Donald Crisostomo, 26, was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center’s emergency room by medics, but was released later because he had no injuries. He was then arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving.
Police traffic investigators determined that Crisostomo caused the crash that happened in front of EZ Market in Gualo Rai last Dec. 28 at 8pm.
Police investigation showed that a blue Toyota Echo four-door sedan being driven by a 48-year-old man had stopped on the southbound inner lane to make a left turn into Espana Street.
An orange 1997 Nissan pickup truck being driven by Crisostomo was traveling behind and sideswiped the Toyota Echo. The truck then encroached onto the opposite lane and collided with the police vehicle—a white 2008 Chevy Trail Blazer. The police vehicle at that time was traveling on the northbound inner lane.
Responding traffic investigators interviewed witnesses and the drivers of the three vehicles involved.
Investigators said the weather condition at that time was clear, the road surface was dry, and the lighting in the area was dark.
