The CNMI earned another trip to the Senior League World Series this year after sweeping past its opponents in the 2015 Asia-Pacific-Middle East Little League Regional Tournament.

Saipan hosted the Junior, Senior, and Big League regional tournament.

Team CNMI punched their ticket to Bangor, Maine as they went undefeated in the regionals, which was cut short by a typhoon.

They completed a six-game sweep in the double-elimination round against Guam, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

They scored an average of five runs a game, while holding their opponents in scoring two runs per match.

The CNMI’s biggest win was a 7-2 decision against Hong Kong in one of their two games. They also scored shutout wins over Guam and the Philippines in the first round.

In the World Series, the CNMI finished with a 2-3 where twice they defeated Europe-Africa representatives Lazzio Little League but dropped their two games against Maine District III.

They became the first victim of Canada in the tournament after losing a 13-inning thriller, 5-6.

Craig Aguon, Nathan Camacho, Franko Nakamura, Jobe Reyes, Anthony Agulto, Richard Atalig, Ethan Babauta, Henry Lizama, Roke Tenorio, Joaquin Chong, Franklin Lizama, and Aurel Mendiola, Kekuni Yamaduke Kaainoa, Brandon Pua, Lorenzo Sebaklim, and Robin Secharmidal are the members of the CNMI Senior All-Stars.

Greg Camacho was the manager with Lawrence Camacho as the head coach with John Manibusan as assistant.

Team CNMI also received a generous gift from the organizers and other kind-hearted individuals in the World Series as Typhoon Soudelor hit Saipan during the time they were in Maine.

Several players’ houses and property were damaged prompting the host team starting a fundraising campaign that amounted to thousands of dollars that were divided to the entire team to help them rebuild their lives.

The CNMI previously represented the region in the World Series in 2004, 2007, and 2010.
