Sports groups asked to submit annual report
Northern Marianas Sports Association president Michael White is calling all member federations to submit their annual report no later than Jan. 21.
“Please submit your federation’s annual report for 2015. The report doesn’t need to be longer than one or two pages. Send me two or three (electronic) photos if you have them. These reports will be edited and submitted to ONOC for inclusion in its annual report,” White said in an email circulated to NMSA members.
NMSA is an associate member of Oceania National Olympic Committee, which publishes highlights of each member countries in its annual report.
“I would like to see every federation’s report in this year’s ONOC Annual Report. Your report will help NMSA show ONOC and its member federations that we are a responsible and worthy member of the Pacific sports community. Each federation can review what others have accomplished during the year, and hopefully take out some good ideas. Additionally, your own report is a good assessment tool to help your federation see what it has done well, and what it needs to do to improve,” White said.
Each federation’s report is expected to feature events that took place in the first three quarters of the year, as there were limited tournaments in the last quarter after Saipan was hit by Typhoon Soudelor.
Northern Mariana Islands Tennis Association and Northern Mariana Islands Football Association, two of the most active sports group in the CNMI, are likely to highlight their participation in off-island tournaments in their respective annual reports. NMITA may mention the CNMI junior team’s dominance in the North Pacific Regional Championships and stint in the Pacific Oceania Junior Championships, while NMIFA’s report may contain information on teams that represented the Commonwealth to Asian Football Confederation and East Asian Football Federation-sanctioned competitions.
