Miss International China Xinyue Liu was on Saipan earlier this month filming a destination video with other pageant winners, highlighting the natural beauty and numerous tourist attractions of the island.

The video shoot was organized by the pageant committee and China Times Media in cooperation with the Marianas Visitors Authority and will be posted online in January 2016 to over 1 million daily netizens.

Liu, a native of Xinjiang region, was accompanied by runner-up Yanjing Chen of Fujian Province and 3rd place finisher Biligetana of Inner Mongolia.

“This month’s filming with Miss International China pageant winners is another tremendous marketing opportunity for the Northern Mariana Islands,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “Not only will the formal video be published online, but Miss International China and other winners took a lot of personal photos everywhere they went to share with their WeChat friends and followers.”

The pageant winners had a full shooting schedule beginning Dec. 8, 2015. Activities included a submarine tour, a tour of scenic and historic sites in Marpi, Let’s Go UTV jungle tour, parasailing and other marine sports at Managaha, tours of Tank Beach and Forbidden Island lookout, and a visit to shopping outlets in downtown Garapan,

International cuisine was enjoyed at 360 Revolving Restaurant, Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort Double Eagle Restaurant, Mariana Resort & Spa lunch buffet, Kanoa Resort Saipan BBQ Dinner Show, Managaha ice cream parlor, Monster Pizza, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Aqua Resort Club seafood buffet dinner, McDonald’s, and Hard Rock Café Saipan.

Hotels filmed at were Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort, Aqua Resort Club, Mariana Resort & Spa, and PIC Saipan. The group lodged at Kanoa Resort Saipan during their stay.

“Ms. Liu and Biligetana were especially impressed with our beautiful ocean water and blue sky,” said MVA marketing specialist Laura Hsiao, who accompanied the group. “They noted that the light is so perfect for photos, they didn’t even need to use any special app to edit their snapshots. Ms. Chen is the only one living along the coast, and she couldn’t believe the ocean water here in the Northern Marianas is so clear and beautiful.”

Liu also met Miss Marianas Jian Joyner at the Miss International pageant held earlier this year in Japan. (MVA)
