Judge OKs 3 lawyers as Fund hearing officers, another lawyer as arbitrator
U.S. District Court for the NMI designated Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood has approved the appointment of three attorneys as administrative hearing officers and another lawyer as an arbitrator for the NMI Retirement Fund.
Tydingco-Gatewood granted the request of NMI Settlement Fund trustee Joyce C.H. Tang to approve the appointment of attorneys Maya Kara, Josh Berger, and Leevin Camacho as administrative hearing officers, as well as the appointment of attorney Richard Johnson as arbitrator.
During her report about the Settlement Fund last week, Tang informed Tydingco-Gatewood about the Fund’s selection of Kara, Berger, Camacho, and Johnson.
The Settlement Fund posted announcements for the administrative hearing officer and arbitrator positions.
After interviewing candidates, Tang said the four lawyers were selected based on their qualifications, availability, and experience, to assist with administrative proceedings.
The judge also approved the NMI Settlement Fund’s Administrative Appeal Rules and Procedures, as well as the Fee Schedule.
