Welcome the holidays with classic ‘Scrooge’ musical

A wonderful Christmas classic for all ages, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has proven itself to be one of the best tales to tell every holiday season. This weekend, experience A Christmas Carol in a way you’ve never seen before! The Friends of the Arts present Scrooge: A magical Musical Readers Theater!

Witness the glory of Christmas on stage in this captivating and beautiful retelling of Ebenezer Scrooge, the stingiest, meanest, nastiest, and cruelest person in all of mankind! Scrooge absolutely hates Christmas, even going as far as to call it a waste of time! One Christmas Eve, however, he is visited by the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, all in an effort to show him the true meaning of Christmas before times runs out. Under the direction of Harold Easton and musical direction by Paul Dujua, the characters of the story are brought to life through staged readings of the play accompanied by musical and dance numbers.

“In this particular production, we showcase the music,” Easton explains. “The music brings a refreshing experience on the story of Scrooge, surrounding the words with the musical numbers!”

Vivien Viernes, cast and FOA member, invites friends and families “…to spread the Christmas spirit in our community this holiday season!”

Show times for this production will be on Dec. 19 at 7pm and Dec. 20 at 3pm and 7pm. Ticket prices start at $4 for students, $6 for FOA members, and $8 for adults. Bring your family, friends, and even your neighbors in celebration of the Christmas spirit this season! Don’t be a bah-humbugger like Mr. Scrooge, come and enjoy this fantastic production! (FOA)
