The two prominent artists have worked together for 15 years and will be performing some of their greatest hits for a Saipan audience for the very first time this weekend.
“We love it here,” Petey Pablo told media in a press conference yesterday. “The island is so peaceful…The cliffs that they have over here [that we visited while touring] is something special.”
When asked what his favorite song was, Bubba Sparxxx said: “My favorite song is “Nowhere” because it is a real accurate depiction of where I cam from and how I grew up.”
Bubba Spraxxx’s “Nowhere” debuted on the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 60,000 copies in its first week in 2003.
His partner, Petey Pablo, has had equal success not only as a musician, but actor, as well. He appeared in the film Drumline and more recently played a character in FOX’s hit show, Empire.
Rumors of the two shooting a music video on island surfaced as their performance date neared. The artists told Saipan Tribune that islanders should “keep their eyes open and play close attention” to their next project. “It’s a potential yes,” they said in response to whether or not the video will be shot.
Tonight’s show is already sold-out. However, tickets for limited seating are available for $25 to see Bubba Sparxx and Petey Pabloe Saturday night. The artists will be leaving the island Tuesday.
