National Alamo Car Rental and the Jokers IT&E Voyagers remain on top of their respective billiards leagues in the Budweiser and Saipan Billiards Association-organized 8-ball events held in different bars last week.

Alamo edged the Jokers Homeboyz, 7-6, to hold a slim lead over their opponents in the Thursday leagues’ six-team field. The former hiked their record to 32-20, one win ahead of the Homeboyz’s 31-21 slate.

The pairs of Boyet Sequioco and Rey Hermogenes and Manny Mariano and Rodel Dela Cruz swept each of their Partners 8-Ball matches against the Homeboyz tandems of Nolan Cultura and Cesar Sangalang, and Rick Elefante and George Lizardo.

Hermogenes, Roman Rodriguez, Rodel Dela Cruz, and Mariano gave Alamo a quick 4-0 lead after scoring wins against Jeff Garcia, Elefante, Lizardo, and Sangalang, respectively, in Singles 8-Ball play.

The Homeboyz bounced back in Partners 8-Ball and the three contests in the second set of Singles events to take a 5-4 lead entering the last four games of their Thursday match up against the Alamo.

That was, however, short lived as team captain Sequioco and company won three of the last four matches to snatch the win.

In other Thursday League contests, the Jokers WildBoyz and the Wild Bill’s Wild Wild West completed similar 8-5 decision against the Wild Bill’s Rack ‘N’ Roll and Jonny’s Team SCS.

In the Tuesday League, the Voyagers (39-26) enjoy a two-win edge over sister squad Destroyers (37-28) after an 8-5 win in their match up.

The Jokers Docomo Hustlers are also close behind at 36-29 following a 7-6 decision over the Jonny’s Titans (26-39), while the Jokers StraightBlackBall (29-36) also eked out a 7-6 win over the Jonny’s Crazy 8 (28-37).

Action continues tonight in the Tuesday League with the Destroyers facing the Crazy 8 and the Hustlers clashing with the Voyagers while the Titans host the StraightBlackBall.

On Thursday, The Homeboyz will be visiting the Wild Wild West while the WildBoyz host Team SCS. The Rack ‘N’ Roll will try to test their mettle against top ranked Alamo.
