The Marianas Visitors Authority went to Kunming, China, last month to participate in this year’s China International Travel Mar, the largest professional travel mart in Asia.
Over 100,000 industry and media reps and consumers attended the event held on Nov. 13-15, 2015, in the Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center. The MVA distributed information and brochures at their booth, which was highlighted by indigenous Carolinian cultural dancers and craft demonstrations.
“It was an extraordinary opportunity for the MVA to participate in this large scale trade show,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “The chance to reach out to the key travel trade professionals and media outlets that feed our direct flights from Guangzhou was extremely productive. We’ll be seeing more visitors as a result of this promotional outreach.”
Over 100 countries and regions including the Northern Marianas participated in the event, which had 3,087 booths covering 70,000 square meters. The MVA also conducted several media interviews at the show and in Guangzhou prior to CITM.
The MVA operates representative offices in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. (MVA)
