Nepalese community of Tinian cleans up island

The Nepal Tinian Society Inc. organized an islandwide cleanup of Tinian last Saturday, Nov. 28, starting from the Office of the Mayor all the way to their final destination, the Taga Beach. Along the way, the group also cleaned up the Tinian Superior Court, Department of Public Safety building, Tinian Health Center, U.S. Postal Service, Tinian Public Library, San Jose Church, the Senior Citizen building, the traditional fiesta grounds on Kammer Beach, and Tachogna Beach.

Nepal Tinian Society founder Bal Krishna Thapa Magar and president Bharat Raj Bhatt later handed out certificates of appreciation to all the cleanup participants.

The Nepal Tinian Society would also like to express their sincere thanks to Allen Perez of the Tinian Mayor’s Office, Department of Commerce resident director Mary Susan Cruz, Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino general manager Christopher Bishop, and Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Lundgren for their support. Similarly, the group gives thanks to Tinian Fuel Services Inc. CEO Phillip Mendiola-Long for donating the use of vehicles, ice/water, and gloves. (PR)
