Blue Haus, Cholos pound opponents

Blue Haus and Cholos 8th Division earned easy wins in the 2015 San Antonio Community Action Network Basketball League last Tuesday night at the San Antonio court.
Blue Haus coasted past CES Electronics in the masters, 105-76, while Cholos whipped Armatech in the open division pairing, 83-67.
With the victory, Cholos improved its record to 4-2 and tied Pacific Islands Club (4-2) for the third to fourth place in the team standings in the West Group. GMJ/IKKI leads the division with its 5-1 slate, followed by Blue Haus (4-1), while Armatech is at the cellar with its 0-5 mark behind GMI Market (1-4) and Ferrera Builders (1-4).
Cholos broke the game wide open in the second period after being forced to a deadlock, 14-all, at the end of the first frame. Gerald Laguimdan scored 12 of his 16 points in the second canto to lift Cholos to a 42-27 halftime advantage.
Cholos went on to protect the double-digit spread in the second half with Jerome Norita scoring in streaks in the third quarter and the rest of his teammates also hitting their targets in the fourth. Norita fired 8 straight points and 10 of Cholos’ last 11 markers in the third canto, while five of his teammates nailed at least two baskets apiece in the fourth to finish off Armatech.
Norita led all scorers with his 22 points.
In the masters game, Blue Haus showed its offensive firepower in the second half to notch its fourth win in five games.
Blue Haus fell behind in the first canto, 16-23, and was in a standoff at halftime, 43-all, before it exploded for 34 points in the third to build a commanding 77-57 lead. Blue Haus had balanced scoring in the pivotal third and kept its good shooting in the fourth to reach past the century mark and walk away with a 29-point winning margin.
Edsel Mendoza had 16 to pace Blue Haus, which had five more players breaking into double figures. Sonny Ebuen top-scored for CES with his 22 markers.
