A Turkey Shoot 8-Ball billiards tournament will be held at 8pm tonight at the Jokers Bar & Restaurant in Garapan.

Registration starts at 7pm with a $10 entrance fee for the double-elimination tournament.

The tournament is open to all billiards players on Saipan, whether they are members of teams seeing action in the Tuesday and Thursday leagues of the Saipan Billiards Association.

The tournament is also open to all skill levels, from beginners who are hoping to experience playing in a tournament to veterans, who are regulars of both leagues organized by the SBA.

A cash prize, trophy, and a turkey await the lucky winner in time for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving Day celebration.

Pacific Amusement Inc. is organizing the tournament and supported in part by Jokers Bar, which also hosts the weekly darts and billiards blind draw tournaments.

In other news, SBA and Saipan Electronic Darts Association secretary Warlee Ellama will be moving the weekly darts and billiards blind draw tournaments held every Wednesday to Saturday.

Ellama said they don’t want the weekly tournaments to overlap with SEDA’s regular Winter/Spring season that is set to open on Monday, Nov. 30, in various bars on the island.

The Masters and A divisions will kick off the games in SEDA’s Winter/Spring Season on Monday followed by matches in the Tuesday B; Ladies, Chichirika, and Kingfisher (Wednesday); and Fanihi and Flame Tree (Thursday).

Ellama added that they also wanted a different bar to host both the weekly darts and billiards tournaments.
