IT&E officially launches faster mobile network

IT&E officially launched its faster Long-Term Evolution network yesterday with a ribbon cutting ceremony symbolizing the company’s commitment to the community in improving telecommunications services.
“What we’ve done today is a symbol of IT&E’s commitment to the community. We have spent over $1 million with this project to provide high-speed data. It is the first step in our $30-million investment over the next five years [and] we’re not done,” according to chief operating officer John Compton.
IT&E has installed six fully operational sites that have been strategically placed around the island to provide IT&E’s wireless customers with premier 4G LTE wireless service. These selected areas are Garapan, Gualo Rai, Kannat Tabla, Susupe, Chalan Kanoa, and Mt. Tapochau.

In terms of improving Internet service, Compton said, “as you can see [referring to ongoing roadside digging], our team is still installing fiber optic cables [to increase the quality of their overall services] but today, we celebrate this first step.”
According to Compton, IT&E has doubled the capacity of 4G, which is inclusive of voice and data to be much faster and robust than ever before.
“The LTE network is now at the same standard as the U.S. The LTE network has also freed up the capacity of the 4G network,” he says, as customers move toward faster LTE speeds.
The IT&E team is also inviting the community to check out their Black Friday deals. They’ll be open on Thanksgiving for the first time in its history from 6am to 8pm. Free power banks and other items will be given to customers in the first two hours.
