Dynamic suspends HK-Saipan flights
Dynamic Airlines went on a “break” and may not be coming back to operate chartered flights from Hong Kong to Saipan anytime soon.
The airline’s local representative, Dennis Tse, told Saipan Tribune that they are currently not operating since Tuesday.
Commonwealth Ports Authority executive director Maryann Lizama confirmed the airline’s move to temporarily stop operation and said that Dynamic Airlines gave “proper notification.”
“We have been informed of the suspension of their charter flights between Saipan and Hong Kong until further notice,” Lizama said.
Lizama said the airline notified them on Nov. 5.
Tse did not disclose specific reasons but said that the move was planned months ago.
“This is a company decision,” he said.
Dynamic Airways also left Saipan for about 11 months before coming back last July for the HK-Saipan route.
Tse said the airline will be scheduling flights again in January next year, but they will be from different destinations.
“This time we may not be bringing in any passengers from Hong Kong. When we come back, we will be bringing passengers from China,” Tse said, adding that they will be flying in from several cities.
Prior to the break, the airline operated two aircrafts servicing a weekly flight from Hong Kong and once every two weeks from China. They bring in about 200 passengers every flight.
Tse said there will still be two aircraft dedicated to Saipan when they start operating again.
