The Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter will have Patrick Candoleta, Assistant District Director for the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, presenting at its November general membership meeting.

Condoleta will discuss a variety of current labor issues to include the Federal Labor Standards Act requirements on nursing mothers in the workplace, an update on recent changes in the Family Medical Leave Act, common violations that should be avoided, and Wage and Hour’s ongoing strategic enforcement program. These topics will be of special interest to all HR professionals and managers, bringing attendees of the meeting up-to-date on the FLSA and FMLA, as well as giving all an idea of what companies should look for in their workplace to ensure they are complying with the law.

This lunch meeting will be held at the Pacific Islands Club Charley’s on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

This presentation is open to the public and will be an invaluable opportunity for employers and HR professionals and staff to better understand recent labor law changes and what we can do to prevent violations. Candoleta will provide an opportunity for questions.

The presentation includes the PIC lunch buffet at the cost of $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members.  Seats are limited, so reserve your seat by contacting Micah Parico-Acuavera by phone at 234-1795 or by e-mail at corpoffice@triplejsaipan.com or by e-mail to Frank Gibson at flgibson@yahoo.com.
