ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—Continuing the firm’s expansion in the West, Raymond James recently welcomed a team of two veteran financial advisers and three support staff to a new branch of Raymond James & Associates—the firm’s traditional employee broker/dealer—in Maite, Guam, according to Tash Elwyn, president of RJA’s Private Client Group.

The Asia Pacific Group joined Raymond James from Morgan Stanley, where they collectively managed more than $1 billion in client assets, had approximately $3 million in annual production and were one of the firm’s key institutional consulting groups in the Western Pacific U.S. region. The team is composed of Daniel A. Roland, CIMA, AIF, managing director and senior institutional consultant; Jason B. Miyashita, CRPS, AIFA, senior vice president of investments and senior institutional consultant; and Amber Leon Guerrero, client service associate.

In addition, Maree C. Pelkey, AIF, associate vice president of investments, and Tiffany C. Walsh, client service associate, will be joining Raymond James by the end of November.

“We are pleased Dan and Jason decided to join us as we expand our services to advisors and their clients in the Western Pacific U.S.,” said Elwyn. “With more than 50 years of combined industry experience, they are a well-established, respected team that has remained committed to doing what is best for their clients. We are delighted to welcome them to Raymond James as we expand the firm’s offerings for both advisors and clients in the region.”

“This team marks the first advisors to join Raymond James & Associates in Guam,” said Rick Sanchez, West Coast regional director for RJA. “We anticipate growth in Guam through internal development of the team and by attracting new professionals to The Asia Pacific Group, and we look forward to continuing this momentum and growing the firm’s presence in the Pacific.”

The advisers of Asia Pacific Group provide a suite of investment services to public funds, endowments, foundations, corporations and high-net-worth investors focusing on managed money, wealth management, estate planning, and retirement and education planning.

“We wanted to find a firm that was truly client-centric and Raymond James offers us that unmatched culture we were looking for,” said Roland. “The firm also offers us freedom to run our business, access to firm leadership and the type of support we need to continually provide exceptional service to our clients. We are confident Raymond James was the right move for our practice and our clients.”

A founding partner of The Asia Pacific Group, Roland has more than 37 years of institutional investment consulting experience serving endowments, foundations and public funds. He holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA in finance and investments from George Washington University.

Miyashita, also a founding partner of The Asia Pacific Group, has more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry and was born and raised in Guam. He is a graduate of The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania where he studied accounting, finance and strategic management and Guam’s Father Duenas Memorial High School.

Guerrero, the newest addition to the group, was born and raised in Guam and has extensive experience in providing business and financial management support. She holds a bachelor of Business Administration from American InterContinental University. (PR)
