In the spirit of lending a helping hand, Des Graham, president of Atkins Kroll, Inc., announced yesterday that the company will donate $1,914 to the Saipan Salvation Army, American Red Cross NMI Chapter, and Saipan Karidat toward assistance for island residents affected by Typhoon Soudelor on Aug. 2, 2015.

The donated amountA of $1,914 signifies the year, 1914, that Atkins Kroll, Inc., Guam’s oldest and one of the largest businesses, was founded.

Atkins Kroll has made cash contributions of $1,914 to various charitable and non-profit organizations each month since the company celebrated its 100th anniversary in May 2014.

“We asked our Guam customers to apportion our monetary donation amongst three nominated charities or non-profit groups based on our customers’ vote for their favorite causes. We have set up a voting system in our showroom and service areas where customers select the cause of their choice with a ping pong ball dropped in one of three separate bins. Each bin has the name of a nominated charity or non-profit organization. The $1,914 in cash is then divided in proportion to the number of balls each bin contains,” added Graham.

“The roles of the Salvation Army, Saipan chapter of the Red Cross, and Saipan

Karidat are important in our community for the immediate comfort and care of those in need. They provide physical assistance and emotional comfort for the afflicted. We are glad that Atkins Kroll is able to assist these worthy endeavors with this cash contribution,” said Graham. (AK)
