There was a burst of color and loud cheer as the jam-packed NMIS Lounge Area held the 2nd Mr. and Ms. United Nations last Oct. 30, 2015. This annual competition aims to showcase the culture and beauty of different nations all over the world through performances of the preschool, elementary, and middle school student body.

This year, the muse and escort of every class competed in this much-awaited event, all wearing the national costumes of the country they were representing. From their elaborate and eye-catching costumes to their splendid performances, these candidates truly didn’t fail to impress!

Gabriella B. Inos bested seven other candidates and was crowned the Ms. United Nations 2015 of Northern Marianas International School. Inos is a K-5 student under the homeroom class of Grace Rosete.

“Gabriella is a very sweet and charming girl,” said Rosete. “She also participates in all classroom activities and is well-loved by her classmates.”

A fourth grade student, Zillion Piñote grabbed the Mr. United Nations 2015 title. Piñote, one of the students of Roy Dolon, was described as quiet, amiable and cheerful. His parents teach him “eskrima,” a form of Philippine martial arts.

“He wants to be a policeman in the future,” said Dolon.
