An intoxicated man was arrested for allegedly beating up his girlfriend and threatening to pour laundry soap in her mouth at their house in San Antonio Tuesday night.

Komgish Tannakan, 36, also known as Bond, also allegedly forced the girlfriend to play poker with him, leaving their three children, all below 4 years old, inside their car on early Wednesday morning.

Tannakan was arrested for assault and battery, assault, disturbing the peace, child abuse or neglect, and interfering with a domestic violence report. His bail was set at $1,000 cash and $9,000 unsecured bond.

Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman barred Tannakan from having any contact with the alleged victim and from visiting any poker arcades.

Preliminary hearing will be on Nov. 10 at 1:30pm. Arraignment will be on Nov. 16 at 9am.

Attorney Joe Hill appeared as counsel for Tannakan. Assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.

Police said that officers responded to AJ Poker in Afetnas early Wednesday morning after the victim called for help. When the officers arrived at 1:18am, the victim was in the cashier’s booth, crying. Tannakan was standing at the booth’s window.

The victim told police that earlier that night Tannakan slapped her in the face and threatened to kill her. He allegedly got a cup full of powdered laundry detergent, grabbed her by the mouth, and threatened to pour the detergent in her mouth to kill her.

Tannakan also allegedly grabbed her by the hair, dragged her for about 15 feet, and kicked her against the wall.

Later, Tannakan allegedly brought her and the children to AJ Poker so he could play poker, leaving the children in the car.

The victim later went to the cashier’s booth and used the phone to call for police assistance. Tannakan came and pulled the phone away from her, preventing her from calling the police.

Tannakan tried to pull her out from the cashier’s booth but she held on to the door and kept crying, asking for help. A security guard approached, told the victim to go inside the booth, and called the police. At 1:48am, Tannakan was arrested.

The victim refused to be transported to the Commonwealth Health Center because no one was going to watch their three children. Police brought the victim and the children to their house.
