Man arrested for ‘ice’ possession
A habitual offender was arrested for alleged possession of 1.2 gross grams of methamphetamine or “ice” in the parking lot of a poker arcade in western Garapan on Sunday morning.
Manuel Jones Villagomez, 40, was taken to Superior Court yesterday on charges of possession of controlled substance.
Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $10,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for Nov. 10 at 1:30pm.
Assistant public defender Tillman Clark appeared as counsel for Villagomez. Assistant attorney general Barbara Cepeda represented the government.
Police detective Rudolfo Saures Hermosilla Jr. stated in his report that he and two other officers were conducting a routine patrol along Plumeria Avenue in western Garapan when they spotted Villagomez getting out of a car.
Hermosilla said he saw Villagomez holding what appeared to be a glass tube that is used to smoke “ice.”
The detective said he approached Villagomez and asked the other officer to search the glass tube.
Hermosilla said he also talked to another man who got out of the driver’s side of the same vehicle.
The detective said during the search, they found two baggies of “ice” in Villagomez’s pant pocket and one glass tube in between the suspect’s thighs.
Hermosilla said the crystalline substance tested presumptive positive for “ice.”
Villagomez was taken to the Department of Corrections, but he requested to see a doctor. On the way to the hospital, Villagomez stated he just wanted “to stroll” so he requested to see a doctor. He was taken back to the Department of Corrections.
