Sons of Saipan donates boxes of school supplies

As the Commonwealth continues with its recovery efforts on Saipan, the Rotary Club of Saipan recently facilitated a donation from the Sons of Saipan group in Guam to the Tanapag Middle School.

A total of five boxes loaded with all manners of school supplies were donated to help students continue their education and help minimize the affects of from Typhoon Soudelor.

Erica Thornburgh, principal of Tanapag Middle School, said the supplies are very much needed and their students will be the beneficiaries of these donations.

Rotary Club vice president Brian Clayton was on hand to haul and donate items on Monday at 11am.

The Sons of Saipan are former residents of Saipan that now live in Guam such as Sam McPhetres Jr., Kevin Barnes, Jojo Camacho, Amir Unis, etc. They donated a total of 17 boxes of school supplies. Among these were the five boxes that Rotary turned over to Tanapag Middle School.
