Best Sunshine donates Halloween costumes to PSS

As the community continues to recover from the recent storms, the Public School System spearheaded a Halloween Costume Drive held last Oct. 24, from 9am to 5pm for students who, in light of the existent challenges of any after-typhoon situation, are not fortunate enough to have a Halloween costume.
The drive, which is a collaborative effort of AmeriCorps and PSS Student and Support Services, is accepting gently worn costumes in good condition, new costumes, and encourages pledges from individuals and organizations to donate costumes.
A hundred costumes or $1,500 worth of costumes were donated to the fund-drive by Best Sunshine International Ltd. during a pledge presentation to PSS officials on Oct. 22 led by BSI chief service officer Tao Xing and the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility director Rita Chong, and attended by Board of Education chair Herman Guerrero and Association Commissioner of Administrative Services Glenn Muna and Vicky Nicholas of PSS AmeriCorps.
“There will be a hundred more smiling faces. Thank you, Best Sunshine,” remarked Vicky Nicholas from AmeriCorps. A variety of costumes for both boys and girls include Batman, Ninja Turtles, Captain America, Superman, Spiderman, Witches, Transylvania Vampire, Lady Bug Princess, and Groovy Girl.
According to Frances Ulloa, of the PSS counseling program, school counselors will be contacted and these costumes will be distributed to the counselors of each school on Thursday.
