SEDA to plan new season

The Saipan Electronic Darts Association will be holding a team captain’s meeting on Nov. 7 to plan the upcoming Bud Light league’s winter/spring season.

The meeting will be held at Doro’s Lechon in Middle Road right across the Mobil gas station in Garapan. The meeting for the new season is a welcome news to all darts players with some teams aiming to remain as champions and other squads hoping to improve their performances.

SEDA plans to open the winter/spring 2016 season on Nov. 16 starting with matches in the A and Ladies divisions.

Jonny’s Bar, Sands Bar, VFW Post 3457, Blue Koi Tavern, Jokers Bar, Doro’s Lechon, 6JMS Sports Bar, Oleai Beach Bar & Grill, Smoke Pub Sport’s Bar, Wild Bills Bar & Grill, and Naked Fish Café are some of the locations that are willing to sponsor darts teams.

SEDA have been holding weekly darts tournaments since Sept. 16 to serve as a practice and warm-up venue for players before the season starts. The association decided to hold the weekly darts tournament, along with billiards competitions, since most of the sponsor bars are still without power after Typhoon Soudelor.

League secretary Warlee Ellama added that once the new season starts, they would either call off the weekly tournament—played every Wednesday night—or hold it every Friday or Saturday.

“But it will all depend on the players. If they still want to have the weekly tournament or stop it so they could concentrate with the new season,” said Ellama.
