Chamber membership luncheon this Wednesday
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be conducting its first general membership meeting for 2012 after swearing in its 2012 SCC officers and directors, and also announced its schedule for the SCC hosted 2012 Tax Seminar for CNMI employers.
The Chamber will hold its February general membership luncheon meeting at the Saipan World Resort on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Luncheon will begin at 11:30am, with the meeting starting at 12 noon. The luncheon meeting is $15 for Chamber members, $20 for guests of Chamber members, and $25 for non-Chamber members and the general public.
February’s Chamber guest speaker is Lt. Gov. Eloy Inos, who will address the Chamber on the 2012 CNMI budget, recent activity pertaining to the FICA social security tax status as it pertains to foreign nationals employed in the CNMI, and other issues. Also speaking will be Frank Camacho, from the CNMI Neighborhood Watch.
Chamber also announced its dates for the annual Employer Tax Seminar to be conducted by tax experts from both Deloitte and Ernst and Young. Ernst and Young will be represented by Edmund Brobesong, while Edgar Aguilar will present from Deloitte.
This year’s tax seminar is scheduled for Feb. 17, from 9am to 11am and topics include tax saving strategies for the 2012 filing season, small business tax saving strategies, sourcing rules for the CNMI and information returns for 2012.
