Atalig took home a trophy and $50 cash after beating Jun “Shocker” Santos in their winner-take-all finale. Santos settled for the runner-up prizes of $40 cash and a T-shirt.
It was also Atalig’s second win over Santos after relegating him to the loser’s bracket with a second-round win in the eliminations. He also defeated Leo Wania and Ray “Udas” Cepeda on his way to the finals.
Santos scored wins over Boom “Bang” Cruz, K.J. Villagomez, Patrick “Tako” Taitano, and Cepeda in the loser’s bracket but could not dispatch Santos in their championship showdown.
Jeff “Joker” Barit and Paul Quizon were the other darts players who joined but were eliminated earlier in the tournament.
Dela Cruz also went undefeated to clinch the weekly billiards title besting Ray Matsunaga in the finals. He won $60 cash and a Pacific Islands Club waterpark pass for two, while his finals foe got $40 and a T-shirt.
Dela Cruz scored wins over Boyet Sequioco, Warlee Ellama, and Matsunaga to clinch the first finals berth while his opponent in the title match dispatched Nolan Cultura in the loser’s bracket’s semifinal round.
Neil Ayson, Rey Hermogenes, Rey Pinangay, Randy Sablan, and Joshua Woodson were the other cue artists who participated in the one-day double-elimination round tournament.
